The Tamron 17–50mm F4 Di III VXD lens that was announced back in August is now available to order providing you have $699 spare. The lens will start shipping on October 19, 2023.
This 17-50mm lens features a constant F4 maximum aperture through out the zoom range, it’s also an internal zoom design so the lens does not extend as you zoom in helping to keep it well balanced in your hands and on gimbals.
The lens features a circular aperture with 9 blades and is constructed of 15 elements in 13 groups, including three low dispersion elements and a glass-molded aspherical element.
The minimum focusing distance is just 0.19m at the wide-end and 0.3m at the tele-end. And like with most of Tamron’s lenses for Sony E-mount it has a 67mm filter thread.
It measures only 114.4mm (4.5in) long and weighs in at 460g (16.2oz).
