Sony has released firmware update version 1.10 for the Sony a6600.
The update basically just adds support for the new Sony LA-EA5A adapter along with Sony’s normal statement: “Improves the overall stability of the camera”.

I did the update now it’s focus hunting like crazy! Not happy about this at all! I’ve tried 3 different lenses and the focus hunts with all 3 of them. Nothing else has changed except for having done this update.

DO NOT GET THIS UPDATE IF YOU USE A 3RD PARTY BATTERY!!!
But I think the high speed burst JPG corruption bug is gone (I don’t care since I use RAW), maybe… Maybe I got lucky today, maybe it only happens on hot days.
I’m going to do a comparison with my friend’s un-updated a6600 and see if they intentionally did something bad when you use a 3rd party battery, like drain it faster intentionally to trick you into buying 1st party.

Is it not showing the third-party battery warning when you turn the camera on? Generally it will still work just fine and the battery shouldn’t drain any faster, but the message can get annoying.
