An amazing experience while out on Tuesday. While taking some more Common Tern shots there was a sudden commotion as this Peregrine Falcon appeared from nowhere, as you'd expect from the fastest bird in the world. The Terns didn't let it stay around long, but long enough for these shots. Shot in crop mode and cropped of course, save for the one shot showing the birds distance from us. Truly amazing, and the RIV only missed 5 shots in perfect focus using expanded flexible spot with tracking., the perfect mode when you have clear skies like this. Nailing the head on shots is impressive.

Great and top shots and these that are my favourite Raptor. This is even over our Wedge-tailed Eagle.
I love the interaction between the 2 of them .
The ones we have here seem to be a little bluer in the feather colours on the head and back.
But this is how they must be able to work out the differences between the different groups.

But I do have something to confess to and its that one type of the Peregrine Falcon has got my family name involved in its name.
I think its the Indonesian one if this is okay I will put a link to it. Just to show I am telling you the truth.
But if this is not allowed please let me know so I can take it off.

This is the link to the one with my family name in it.
Making these Falcons my favourite Raptors.

Excellent. Thanks Ralph. It is the exact same species, but this is a juvenile, hence he hasn't got his grey head yet.

I did wonder if this was the case but had second thoughts. So I never said anything.
But now you have said it, now I understand. A bird I would never get sick of getting photo's of.
And to get them like you have would make me so happy.

Cheers Ralph. Practice and it will come.
