A few Common Cranes taken locally this week. I have long wanted to photograph these birds, a species that has been re-introduced to this country, quite successfully now, but in the past have never had a camera handy when I've seen the odd bird here and there. This week I saw a report of 24 in a field near by, and so off we went. It paid off nicely. Tricky light with low, mid afternoon sun behind the birds, but I never expected to see so many gathered in one place. Superb birds. I cropped the last shot 16;9 to help highlight them.
