Two weeks ago I spent two brilliant days photographing Kingfishers on the River Tern near Market Drayton in Shropshire. The Kingfishers really are the most delightful little birds and to get so close to seeing and photographing them in their natural habitat was a real privilege and treat! I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I did taking them! The photos were taken with a combination of the A9 and A7R IV with 100-400 GM and 400 f2.8 GM lenses. If you're a member of the Sony Alpha Wildlife Shooters Fb page you may have seen some images posted there so here's a couple of new previously unseen photos!

Wow - I did that day a few weeks ago as well with an A9, A7III and 200-600 lens. My shots are nowhere near the quality of yours - amazing photos

Think I need a 400mm F2.8 lens!!

Join the club! The one I used was hired. It seemed like a good idea at the time but it's left me knowing that I now need to own this lens!

Quite how I can ever justify the expenditure of £10.5k on a lens however is going to be anybodies guess!!!

Amazing photo composition and image in all of the photos :) #3 is the most amazing photo I've seen of a kingfisher. You inspire me to go further in bird photography. Keep up the incredible work
