I will try starting a new thread and see if it gains any traction. Post your sunrise or sunset photos here.

I will start with two from this morning, photographed in Tucson (USA) on my way to a local nature preserve. These are out-of-camera JPEGS with no cropping or processing. Both with A74 (with battery grip) and FE 200-600.

Here's a sunrise photo from November last year taken from our farm in mid-Wales, UK. Dragged myself out of bed, freezing cold, to our summit at 1500 feet. Got the camera set up in the dark when I realised I'd forgoten my lens filters, so fired up the drone instead. Phone battery died almost immediately and on landing the drone I was about to give up. Glad I didn't as it suddenly occured to me I could use the camera while it was on the ground (duh!). Hope I don't get into too much trouble posting photos that aren't taken with a Sony alpha. My justification is that the camera silhouetted alongside me is my sony a9 ;-)

At least you could tell us what kind of drone you used. ;)

This thread is killing me as I only get a sunrise/sunset photo here and there lately, and I've already posted them... 🥺

Did you say Arizona sunsets

Wow, this is being an amazing thread so far...
sorry for bothering again with yet another La Gomera island sunset shot, taken last monday... the sun is setting close to El Hierro island....
once again without tripod or filters cause my girlfriend's commands: "only gintonics and snapshots"
so I just couldn't help it and made a burst of about 30 shots, and chose 10 of them to make aa average processing in order to get a blurred sea...

Very impressive for handheld! Looks like a beautiful place

Another couple of very different sunrise images from the top of our farm. When the autumn mists descend into the valley floor (second image) it is one of my favourite sights in the world. First time I experienced this I nearly stayed in bed thinking it was thick cloud cover and so no sunrise. It wasn't until about 2/3s up to the top that I broke through to clear skies. Awesome sight!

Ignimbrite is a volcanic rock that can be spotted in the east of Tenerife island, it gets along very well with the sunrises ;)
