I decided to take my a7RV out to see how it would work for shooting a basketball game and see how it compares to my Pentax K1. I took along my Sony 200-600mm lens which was really too long so I only took a few shots with it. I also took a Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 and my Pentax D FA* 70-200 with a Monster adapter to connect it to the a7RV. While the adapter works and allows autofocus but I found it a bit slower and the viewfinder blacked out as I took photos and it did not work well with burst shooting. I will be returning it and have ordered the new Sony 70-200mm GM lens. I should have it in time to shoot a boys' basketball game next week. I was pleased with the shots I was able to get with the Sigma 24-70. It worked great and the crop mode helped. I love having 26mp in crop mode (my Pentax was 15mp in crop mode) and used crop mode a good bit to have smaller files to work with since I am posting these online. I set the C1 button to toggle between FF and Crop mode and it worked great. Anyway, here are a few images. I look forward to playing with all of features available.
