Birds Baby Galah

My 1st real bird outing in what seems a long time and almost straight away I was on to the birds.
Now these birds the Galah's in our area are flighty and I never seen them until they were all in flight.
When one late one arrived and the shot are of this one.
What it looks like to me is that it has come out of the nest a week or so too early and land with a flop.
So never one to miss a shot out of the car to discover this little one is a baby and still hasn't the power of flight.
Getting my shots I made sure that I had herded it back to the area where it had come from, as Mum and Dad were still close by.
I al hoping that it climbs up a tree and settles there until its flight feathers are developed and that the parents come back to feed it.

Yes it took me a lot of strength not to pick it up and bring it home. But I thought let nature be nature as that know so much more than me.
Once it was back in the wooded area and off the road I left but I am still wondering if it was the right thing to do.

I really like this Galahs but this little one without the power of flight really made me think hard on weather to bring it home but I left it hoping it would climb a tree to get up higher and away from danger

I am not sure about fun shots at the time, But I do like getting shots of them and I think this is the youngest one I have ever got.

I told the wife that I will go back out there to see if it okay but she doesn't like the idea of that. SO I am hoping it is okay as well.

I cant wait to see a large flock with my new camera. Stuck in teh city for now though, so only see a few corellas and cockatoos. They’re such funny characters that they ought to have their own thread… from Centennial Park on teh weekend… eating grass seeds.

In Summer here in Mildura we get good flocks of the Little Corella's the Long Bills are less by a long shot around here.
The Sulphur Crested are all over the place with numbers from just a few to about 30. All of which are heard well before they are seen.
And you are so right about these liking and enjoying life far more than you see most birds and this is always good to watch them playing.
