Granada

First visit to Granada and initial impressions are good.

It's very scenic, food is excellent, night life is lively and it doesn't cost the earth to be here.

On the downside, it's very, very crowded with tourists, driving is a nightmare if you aren't familiar and man buns are everywhere you turn.

It's my first time travelling with Sony's 18 - 200 aspc lens, which I picked up second hand a couple of weeks back. I doubt it's won many awards, but for this type of photography, I found it ideal, if not a little cumbersome.

Is the 18-200 noticeably heavier than the 18-135? Looks like it got the job done. Nice travel photos as usual!

About 200g heavier. I do find myself using it at the long end quite a bit though.

My tip is;

Book somewhere near to the St Augustin car park. Drive your car there, leave it until you go. We stayed at the Anacapri. It's a good central location and not too noisy at night. They discount the parking fee, which saved us about 20€ over 2 nights. If you're reasonably fit, you can walk everywhere. Otherwise there are buses and taxis all over the place.

If you want to visit the Alhambra, book well in advance, tickets sell out weeks beforehand.

Tapas is different in Granada to anywhere else I've been in Spain. You buy a drink, you get a tapa. You don't chose it, it just arrives. You can get quite merry as a result of being a hungry boy like myself.

I definitely recommend it.
