Earlier this month I spent a weekend at Bordeaux (France), walking around with my a7c and practising with the recently acquired 40mm f2.5 G lens. It was cloudy and rainy most of the time but that mellow atmosphere payed off I think.

I love your processing style. Classic.

Thank you. I think I tend towards a rather naturalistic processing: you notice it's there but nothing over the top. It feels the best fit with my lens choice, 40mm which is closer to what the eye sees.

I could buy that lens, and never get those results, even in France. I will get to the wine regions eventually though and give it my best shot, :) Beautiful

It's a terrific lens, so give it a try if you can. I Iike it so much that I'm thinking about getting the 24mm F2.8 from the same family, for landscape and wider shots. And fingers crossed that Sony releases more compact prime lenses that keep the quality.

I love my Sony 20mm F1.8 which handles a lot inside. A 24mm focal length makes me reach for my iPhone 14 Pro. I’m such a pragmatist !

That catched my attention too but I liked the compactness of 2.8. I should try it though, it's not too heavy and a wider and faster lens would certainly help.

I really enjoy these photos. Very nice.

Hi Alex,
I was in Europe several years ago. Your images took me back there. Thank you!

You won't regret it. It's fun to use. I'll keep an eye on your pictures with it!

From a few weeks ago. Go to the second page of Street And Travel and my post was called 'time for a walk'. They were all with the 40mm... ✅

Coming from a guy who loves zooms, that 40mm is probably my favourite lens. 🫡
