Photography of record and portrait of a good Samaritan. Thank you to the volunteers helping Blackheath wildlife in the cold conditions. This gentleman is breaking up the ice on the duck pond by the Princess of Wales pub so that the water fowl can feed more easily. It's also a safety measure to prevent children walking out on the thin ice. This is really something the local council should be doing, not just putting up a little sign on one of the pond notice boards warning people not to walk on the ice.
