Ok so where the heck are all you guys?

Hang in there, that new knee will be just fine after you've done the needful, worked hard at the PT and all that.... Not fun, of course, but think how much better it will feel to walk without pain one day!

By the way, have I missed something? I haven't seen any posts from Brownie for a while..... Hope he's OK! I recall that back around the beginning of the month he was scheduled to have cataract surgery on his other eye (first one done successfully) and also that he was planning to shoot the eclipse. Have we heard from him since, and I've just missed those posts?

Looks like he hasn't been around since April 3.

In hostipal with my right leg looking like it belongs to someone who weighs 40 stone, not 11...
Ouch. Really hope you make a speedy recovery Kev. You've got a good 12 months until the next London Marathon :)

Thanks Tim. I'll be fine, it'll be nice to be able to get out with the camera without being in agony or unable to walk. Might start posting again then.

The joys of getting older :( I already have a dodgy foot from falling down the stairs a few years back, a dodgy shoulder from overdoing it in the gym back in my twenties, and dodgy knees from running too much. I reckon I'll be due a few joint replacements before retirement! It's not nice to be in pain, that takes the joy out of everything. Fingers crossed that you are pain free again soon and able to get out and enjoy shooting again.

Been an another cruise round the Mediterranean, took camera but didn’t get to use it much this time sadly!

The wife wanted to have a go so I spent most of my time sight seeing 😬

Speedy recovery Uncle Kev! Take it easy and get back on that camera soon enough!

Same - dodgy shoulder from wightlifting in my early days. Now i work a lot on computer, and i really must be aware of my posture. Everyone that work on computer for hours a day should have a stretch and workout regimen, helps so much. I think companies would benefit a lot from arranging this for its employees.

I am currently at Brighton beach, a southern suburb of Adelaide & about 10 mins drive from where I live. I am attempting my first timelapse video with my A7R5 & Foolography Unleashed. Unfortunately I got here a bit late & I forgot my glasses! The sun should set in about 10 mins. It’s quite mild considering it’s only a month until the start of winter.

Wishing you for a fast recovery! Be patient though.
My wife is three months into having her second knee (full) replacement. Been on three cruises since the first one was done, amazing how well she gets around know and already, even after the second one.

From what I’ve seen it’s so well worth the short term pain to get it (them both) done 👍

Watching the Snooker with my leg up on a footstool.

No longer looking for my ship, having an afternoon tinkering with the KTM 🍊

Still here..!

Sitting in the garden enjoying the sun ☀️
😬

Finally sitting down to edit last week's Formula 1 photos

I keep on forgetting to get to the page and that is an excuse it is the truth. A very bad memory.
Side note on the full knee replacement. I hand my left knee done 4 years ago in march just gone.
I wish I never had it done, as I m that one in a few where it has not worked.
To go out I need to wear a brace or I will be home in half an hour. That it the truth.

I have still being playing with my new toy, Fuji X100VI, but plan to take out the Sony's this week for a spin.
On a side note I have had both knees replaced, 9 and 6 years ago, have know second thought on either one. Yes they feel different than the ones I was born with,( jumping on and off of rocks, not so good) but they no longer hurt all the time, I guess i was one of the lucky ones.

I started scanning all my old slides today. Started with my last day of school in 1978. I have some older ones taken with an old Kodak Instamatic but I have started with all the ones that are sorted into filing cabinet sleeves. It’s going to be a long process. I have already done all my limited amount of 120 film (I think). And have done a lot (probably most) of my black & white film. It’s going to be a long process. The film I was scanning today is all Kodachrome.

Scanning is a project older images is a project I was supposed to start years ago, but every time I think about the thousands and thousands of images I have in negs and transparencies have taken in the some 30 years before switching to digital capture, I never get started. I also have thousands and thousands of digital files I still need to edit from jobs that were never published. Thought this would be one of my retirement activities, but I seem to have less time for it than I thought.

I've been travelling on business for most of April (Oklahoma City, Toronto, Indiapolis, New York City, and Berlin), then back home and drowning in work. I took about 4000 photographs while travelling, quickly culled these down to about 1800 and only recently started going through them carefully (more culling and some post). I took both the new 24-70mm and the 70-200mm with me and humped them all around in my Thinktank courier bag. I still have a heep of photographs I need to catch up with from before I went away and some new shots from since I've been back. Really glad I bought the 24-70mm lens, its great from city shots.
