In joint third place with 8 votes was @iamdlewis with his stunning shot of a Fiery-Throated Hummingbird.
In joint third place with 8 votes was @GT12 with his majestic whale encounter.

I'll be in touch with the first and second place winners soon to arrange the vouchers.

Theme
For this month the theme is patterns. If you need a little inspiration then head over to flickr. We also have a Pattern Challenge Thread but not too many posts unfortunately.

Entries start: The date that this post is published.

Voting ends: May 27th at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT)

Shot Taken Date
Only submit images taken during the current and previous two months. The metadata including date must be included in the uploaded image.

What Do I Get if I Win?
1st Place - The first place winner will receive a $30 (US dollar) voucher for Amazon.
2nd Place - The second place winner will receive a $20 (US dollar) voucher for Amazon.
3rd Place - The joy of taking part.

There are no alternative prize or cash options, so if you are unable to accept an Amazon voucher I'm afraid you will miss out on the prize. If your local currency is something other than US dollars then the above amounts will be converted based on the exchange rate at the time. In the event of a draw the prizes will be split.

A big thanks to everyone who took part this months competition. Not our most popular one this year but still a good number of entries for the theme and hopefully an interesting challenge for those that took part.

In first place with 11 votes was @Thommo with what appears to be the roof of a building but I could be wrong!
In second place with 7 votes was @etiennescamera with a close up shot of a yucca plant.
In third place with 6 votes was @Loke with a 132 kilovolt steel transmission line.

I'll be in touch with the first and second place winners soon to arrange the vouchers.

Our theme for next month is motion and this competition will be starting June 1st.
