As the title says. Thrigby is only 10 minutes from home, so we are members, as it's nice for a couple of hours in an afternoon. They do have a great reptile house and some very lovely big cats.

Nice Kev it is a of a shame that zoo shots are pretty much frowned upon now on most sites, it stopped me from going to wildlife parks a few years ago.
 
Cheers Gary. Yeah, no idea why. It's not like you can see these in the wild without spending a fortune and being lucky, and Zoos are important for conservation. It shouldn't be about the zoos anyway, just the animals and photography

Yep on a lot of sites it is difficult to find a section to post zoo shots, and often they have not seen posts for months. As you say people misunderstand the purpose of zoos and wildlife parks in todays world
 
Those Racoon Dogs certainly are strange looking critters...
