It looks like a Martin but it may be a young one but they usually have more white on them. I need to do a bit of research.

Hi, my name is Jostein and I am new to the forum. Using the same gear as spudhead, my main interest is also bird photography including birds in flight. Your fine photo shows a swift imo or a pallid swift or even a hybrid. The guys over at the birdforum.net would certainly be interested in your photo and help with the id as the pallid swift is not often seen in UK. Sand martins have a whitish underside.
 
I have looked on line and it seems it is probably a swift :)
