Birds Little Terns (and a guest Plover) on Winterton Beach.

A few more favourites from Winterton this week. These fabulous Little Terns arrive in late May, breed and leave again in July. These shots show typical pairing up behaviour, where the males bring sandeels back and offer them to the females, often being rejected by being given the cold shoulder It's very amusing to watch. Not many flight shots because the RIV was really struggling to pick them up with the patchy sky and the wind aiding what are very fast birds in the first place. I'm a bit out of practice too.
Anyway, so great light helped here again, keeping lots of detail thanks to low ISO. I'll be going back for some more flight practice ( or stealing Sue's OM1 )
