Birds ok a few shots with 200-600 and A1 after updates and issue with lens missing focus all just garden shots so far

yep I had to do 3 updates on the camera and one on the lens

I did all of them as they came out but after 2.02 the combination seem to be better in af and tracking. Then again I might be imagining it.

I will know more when I get some birds in flight shots next time I get chance for a walk which has been difficult recently, trouble is I updated the lens as well, so it is difficult to know which or if both are better.

Nice. The lens update is a big part of it. When I updated mine it made a bog difference on the RIV

I have had the lens since launch date, so could be that who knows, I need to test somewhere other than my garden but that has been impossible for weeks life getting in the way as per

I tested my update to 2.02 yesterday and that has solved the problem I was having with the A1+200-600 combo where the AF kept freezing and the only solution was to take out the battery and re-insert it. Phew!

Good David, I was not getting that before, the odd freeze but pointing the camera at another target kicked the lens back in, more just a lack of focus quality, compared to the a9 and lens combo.
