I don’t know if it’s the lens you use or your digital work flow but you images always just out the screen.
 
The first and last images show birds with similar colouration, but different beaks - these are excellent examples of why I can have trouble determining (OK, guessing!!) the species :D

Would you agree that the 300 works really well with the 2x? I don't think any zoom works as well with the 2x as the 300mm does.

Thanks Tony, male kestrel, geese, and meadow pipit, the 2x works (y) very well with the 300 2.8 e-mount, as does the a-mount 300 2.8 and 2x which I still have, the only reason I bought the e-mount version is because the a-mount on the lea-5 adaptor does not allow use of the 1.4 or 2x tcs
 
Very nice! If you don't mind me asking, how far were you from the stationary birds?
 
They look very sharp, I might do a bit of experimenting.
 
Shots 2&3 are lovely.
