  1. Yes
St. Ursula Street is one of the more interesting streets in Valletta. The stepped street, in the shadows, is rather dark compared to the colourful surroundings bathed in sunlight. So I'm not quite sure how to best present it. Here are three (from many) options that I like best. Which do you think is best, and what do you suggest to bring out the steps.

Option 1. I desaturated the almost colourless steps.

Option 2: I left the saturation of the steps natural.

Option 3: Infra-red Black and White option.

Here's the full image. St.Ursula Street is probably one of the most beautiful and interesting Streets in Valletta. With its low risers and deep treads, the stepped street is designed to enable the defending knights in armour to waddle up and down the streets, but making it more difficult for knights on horse back from the attacking side.

I like the original composition best. Vertical composition enhances the powerful perspective. This is a beautiful street for sure!

If only, I'd darken the window with stripes at the top of the stairs as it's a little bit distracting. Or maybe cut that top section just enough to remove that window.

Also the darker buildings to the right add some depth. I like that.

Many thanks Alex. I tried your suggestion and cropped the offending row of windows at the top of the image. I think its looks a lot better. I love the rich tapestry of balconies, colours and shades on the side buildings.
