Wolfs

Last autumn, when the nature was as most beutiful and colourful, I had the opportunity to, together with some friends follow a pack of wolfs during a couple of days in Nomansland on the border between Russia and Finland. This time we had the pack both close up and on distans and in addition in a reasonable good light for photographing. We also got an insight in how the dominated alfa male on a brusque way show his dominans against an insubordinate pack member by a powerful bite cross over the head on the troublemaker and how then ranking was confirmed by "clatching" eachother with the tails. The pack included 9 wolfs, but unfortunately I was not able to get them all on picture at the same time.

Great stuff. I'm jealous of your opportunity! Did the wolfs know you were there? I always wonder if wolves would leave people alone or if they look at us as potential prey as well? As a dog lover I want to walk up them and pet them lol.

Thank you! Yes the wolfs certainly knew I was there, but I was in a hide. If I had showed up I think they should run a way with the tail between their legs, but I`m not shure. I've met wolfs in Yellowstone and tried to come close butthey were extremely shy and I didn't succeed.
