Wonderful. Super pictures!

Maybe, when this turtle was born, Charles Darwin just walked a shore.

Very nice portraits.

Certainly is worth the trip, I managed to do it about 15 years ago while Lonesome George was still alive. Would love to go back.

Thanks.
About Lonesome George: we were told, that the Galapagos scientists are searching for turtles that have the same DNA as George and might be able to bring back its sub-species.

This was one of the unexpected catch of the day, a short-eared Owl infront of his/her burrow.

That is a great owl shot. I didn't get to have a good look at either of the owls while I was there. A beautiful shot. And that is very interesting about the scientists and Lonesome Georges DNA. Thanks for the information and your photo.

Those iguanas just have character.

Probably one reason to go to the Galapagos: To see boobies.

Wonderful shots. Every one a winner!

Thanks Thad,

The animals are not afraid of anything and just pose even if you move around to get the better composition.
And than you get animals than just don’t belong at the equator.
