An Azumaya is a traditional arbor, summer pavilion, or viewing house found in formal Japanese gardens. Often they are a resting place for those participating in a tea ceremony. This one here was provided as a place to sit as one views the adjacent pond filled with koi and gaze at the shoreline scenery.
