Spotted my first great white egret (well at least I think it is!) along the Mawddach Estuary in Wales today. Since I had my dog with me I only had the 70-350 attached to my R4 as I can comfortably attach this to my Peak Design Clip, no chance of doing that with the 200-600! There are not too many of these birds in the UK so gutted I didn't have the 200-600 but still happy to get a shot in, although heavily cropped to 1000px here.

My Penguin book of birds says that is a Duck! ;)

Made a similar walk today and spotted him again, a little bit closer this time as well so only cropped to 2048px here :)

Very nice Tim. We get them nearby quite often, but always at distance too.

Much better Tim. Like that.
Cheers! A little bit closer and some nicer light helped me out a little here. Still wish I’d had the 200-600 with me!

Thanks Kev. First one I've seen, I'll probably see them everywhere now! :)

You don't really need to look into his soul!
Lol. That is true, it's nice to include some of the environment as well.

You will. It took me years to get a Male Bearded Tit, now I see them any time I go looking for Beardies.

It was a very gloomy day when I captured this image.
