Hello everyone, my name is Kevin and I'm a professional photo journalist from Canada. Looking forward to discussing everything sony and other topics.

Hey All,
I have a mechanical issue with my A7R5 - the assignable top dial is locked down and won't budge. I sent it to Gentec and despite being under warranty they are seeking to bill me on account of finding a water droplet on the outside of the USB ports, voiding the warranty (despite me...
I started wildlife photos in 2019 on a Road trip in Canada, BC. My big dream was of course to see and photograph a spirit bear. It on the main land the chances are slim. However I manage and it is one of my absolute favorite photos ever.
I know these are fairly common in many areas, but this is the first time I actually NOTICED them and photographed them. :) One of the few birds as of late that I’ve been watches that has incredibly solid, clean, large patches of colour with almost no speckling or banding.

Cold, miserable day, intermittent snow and howling wind. These two couples were constantly getting blown around the lake. Would fish for a minute, get blown 50m downwind, rest, fish, get blown further downwind…etc.

Like the proverbial road runner, here, two male Canvas Backs are squabbling over mates. The male choosing the opt out of the fight almost runs across the water just like the road runner escaping the coyote!
One of my very first usable in-fight bird photos!!! While I really had to dial back the contrast to pull out the feathers, they’re there and moderately sharp. The day is VERY overcast and dreary, so getting detail on these Blackbirds has been pretty tricky.
Hi everyone,
My name is Brock Gunter-Smith, I’m a boring, incredibly average, mildly geeky father of 3. I live in central Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I usually describe it as “an 8 hour drive north of Minneapolis”. I’m looking to photography as a way to try and find a new hobby that will...
