I am very privileged to have access to Addo Elephant National Park, less than 2 hours drive from home for me and accessible by ordinary car, so no need to visit expensive private game reserves and go on guided game drives. We sat the whole morning, surrounded by almost 50 elephants going in and out of the watering hole and playing in the water, mud and dust. At one point one came right up to the car, which was a little scary. It is amazing how big these guys are, recently saw a video of one rolling a car in another game park in SA.
