Sony A7R III A7Riii issues connecting to external devices

My A7RIII has stopped connecting to external devices (Syrp mini genie, LRT Pro Timer 3) and doesn't trigger the shutter anymore. I've updated the firmware to 3.10 v and reset to all factory settings. Have also powered up again. Spent over an hour with Sony Support yesterday but nothing! Any ideas anyone?

Welcome to the Forum, Andy. Sorry to hear of your camera problem. If you are unable to find an answer here, I would suggest a call to Sony again. I have found that all Tech Reps are created equal. Your luck might be better next time.

How do these devices connect? If it's via bluetooth it might just be worth double checking that it's enabled.

They are connected through cables and the USB micro B Multi port at the bottom.

If all devices that previously worked are no longer working even after a reset there's the possibility that the port is broken. Are you still able to charge the camera via this port?
