One of the most elusive of the Heron family, the Bittern. We had an amazing day at Bittern, seeing 4 different birds and just missing a 5th. Pretty much unheard of. This shot (one of many taken) stood out straight away, as it really shows the amazing camouflage and those incredible, specially adapted for reed climbing, feet well. A special day, more shots once I've processed them (next year at this rate!)
