We had heard that this bird, a very rare UK mainland visitor (this is the second ever at Minsmere and the last was in 1961!), was at a fairly local reserve, so we took a trip today. What a fantastic little wader he is. He is miles off course though, as he should be either in Northern Canada, or on his way to Argentina on migration. Anyway, he's not, so good for us. Heavily cropped shots as he wasn't close, but they still look pretty good thanks to good light today. A great lifer.
