This species is the smallest bird normally found in the USA. They breed in the western mountains and migrate south of the border for winter. A patch of aspen trees about an hour from home has been a reliable spot to find them for the last few years, but this was the first year I was fortunate enough to have a 600mm GM at my disposal.
