Hi everyone !
I wanted to try an exercise I did on a friends Nikon body back home on my sony a7iii. We took some pictures using different white balances just to see what it would look like. First we used white balance in auto and then we set it to 5560K and then 5880K and so on.

BUT when I came back and I wanted to try it on my a7iii surprise suprise I cannot figure out how to do it !! It would only let me set by increments of 100K ! so : 5400 -> 5500 -> 5600 !
How really liked the look and the reproduction of colors from the 5560K setting, and I want to replecate that on my sony ...

Anyone as any idea how to be able to set kelvin values with fewer increments (or basically set 5560 ? )
Thanks in advanced !

You can only set multiples of 100K in the camera. However, in post processing you should be able to set the temperature to the nearest 1K.
I am surprised that you want exactly 5560, because 5600 will give almost exactly the same result.

Agreed ... just one more thing ... Shoot in RAW if you want to set the WB in Kelvin in post processing. If you are shooting in jpg, Lightroom doesn't let you set the WB to a Kelvin value ... just a slider from -100 to 100.

CaptureOne does allow this on any file type
It's a dubious exercise on a JPEG no matter what software you are using.

The white balance process works during the Bayer de-mosaic process to determine the colour interpolated for each pixel. That's already been applied to a JPEG, and it's not exactly reversible.

So I'd stick to RAW files if I wanted to set a specific colour temperature that can't be set on the camera.
