Here's one from yesterday's shoot in northern Alabama.

Very well composed and done!

On a personal note: I believe if the image had little bit more warmth as well as a touch of post-processing emphasis on eyes and lips, it would have looked noticeably more magical.

Funny. I was just working warming her skin up a tad. 👍🏻

Wow! Beautyful!! Is that the softskin effect from the A7 IV ?
I'm unaware of any in-camera skin softening in the A7iv. Did I miss something?

Like most of these features, it's only available in jpeg. I'd rather shoot RAW and do it in post.
I shoot both RAW and Jpeg. Maybee a shortcut to this when shooting portraits.. Have to test it out.

I stopped shooting jpeg. Less on the card, uploads a lot faster, and less crap on my drive.
Me too, only shoot raw/jpegs with a new camera that I cannot process the raws until whatever software for those images is available

I find it more convinient browsing threw 5mb Jpeg files with a bit more colouring/sharpening and then take out the keepers in RAW's for editing. Will try out Photo Mechanic.

I use both Photo Mechanic and Capture One, I do not see any real difference from editing and or culling jpegs or raws. So I might as well just shoot raws.

Yeah I don't shoot JPG. Both cards get ARW files. The skin softening was done in post and was completely intentional. I wanted to make her look almost unreal. There are quite a few people on the FB page that hate this image. I don't think they grasp the concept of "art" but I digress. I've said enough there on the matter. The image is very close to what I envisioned. Both the model and I am happy with the results and that is all that matters.

hi Lodbrok,
i used photo Mechanic for a few years and found it adequate but in some ways limited....

I ditched Photo Mechanic around 2 years agon and started using "FastStone image viewer" which is free software and i found it to offer all the benefits of
Photo Mechanic and more. It handles Raw files very well and coming in from a typical days shoot i can load 1000's of images and review ,cull, and tag them in no time and transfer them out to holding folders, photoshop etc etc.

If you are looking to ID suitable software for this purpose i would recommed taking a look at Fastone also, i dont have any affiliation with them but have found them to be very good.

Thanks Ray for the tip on FastStone image viewer. Uptil now I yust using the windows 10 which hassle up the RAW's and aspecialy weared now when loading in from the A7 IV. The Jpegs are dull and grey but the RAW's are very colourful..? Will try out this software tonight! :)

The "clinically sharp" crowd is never going to understand an image like this. It's another good reason to stay off of Facebook. I have a page only for a connection to the drag strip since that's how most people get their information, and it's not even in my real name. Other than that I stay off.

Glad you took the time to look at it Lodbrok...

I find the combined view of matrix photos on the left and larger feature image on the right(its an icon in the top right corner) is great for quicky running through your photos, clicking(tagging) on the keepers in the top right corner/box of the individual matrix images and then when finished select on untagged photos, followed by deleting them, is a very easy way to quickly filter your shots.

If you decide to use it I am sure you will find your way and work out your own workflow.....
