In Czech Republic before Xmas I wanted to photograph the “dancing house”. Having visited the day before, I noticed a large flock of white swans on the other side of the river, so the next day I went to the dark side.

That time of year there are no shadows. We don’t get such a dull sky, with such soft light in Australia so I was well out of my depth. Hundreds of photos are dull and lifeless. So, I’ve been trying to come to terms with it.

Are any of those skies replaced?

#3 for me.
The last photo has a replaced sky. The grey sky was pulled up in post processing
 
Welcome to the northern hemisphere :)
 
I like it. Maybe I'd try running a weak dodge brush over the upper halves of the buildings and see what happens.
I haven’t used that tool before! I’ll give it a go
