First of all congratulations to last months competition winners and thanks to everyone who took part.

1st place with 7 votes was @Doug Herr
2nd place with 6 votes was @Paul stuart
3rd place with 4 votes was @Kevriano

Since it's the last month of the year let's see your favourite shots from 2021! Hopefully you all have one or two to choose from :)

Competition Dates
Entries start: The date that this post is published.
Entries end: December 20th at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT)
Voting starts: December 20th at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT)
Voting ends: December 28th at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT)

What Do I Get if I Win?
1st Place - The first place winner will receive a $50 (US Dollar) voucher for B&H Photo OR Amazon (you can choose depending on your country and preference).
2nd Place - The second place winner will receive a $25 (US dollar) voucher for B&H Photo OR Amazon.
3rd Place - The third place winner will receive a $20 (US dollar) voucher for B&H Photo OR Amazon.

There are no alternative prize options or cash options, so if you are unable to accept a B&H or Amazon voucher I'm afraid you will miss out on the prize.

If your local currency is something other than US dollars then the above amounts will be converted based on the exchange rate at the time.

In the event of a draw the entry date will be extended but not past the last day of the month. If there are still equal votes for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place then the entry prizes will be split. I can't think of a better way of doing this for the time-being! If this happens I may also only be able to offer Amazon vouchers since $20 is the minimum for B&H.

What better time to post my first entry to a competition than at the last one of the year!

This picture I took in my parents' garden with my Sony A6300 and 100-400 GM lens. I shoot in extra fine JPEG mode and this is how the picture came out of the camera.

A really tough choice, I have a lot of new favourites this year, but I think this is a favourite moment. The juvenile Peregrine had flown into the nesting area of the Common Terns, scattering them to the skies and chasing him from the area before he could grab a chick. The RIV/200 600 did not let me down and kept focus all the way through the brief attack. I love this one for the matching pose of the Falcon and Tern

Very tough to choose, but here is what I came up with. This cheetah walked right up to us and climbed up on the termite mound and looked straight at us. I call it the cheetah stare.

Goodwood Members Meeting, Tom Kristensen qualifying a 1966 Ford GT40. One of those low shutter speed panning shots that really worked.

Not sure if it's my favorite of the year but I love that I can just walk around with a light and compact kit and when you see a cool car on the street - boom! Captured. I think the NSX is an underappreciated car. :) Really enjoying the Sony experience thus far and it should only get better.

This was a difficult question but I plumped for this frosty sunrise Barn Owl , I arrived at the field on a cold frosty morning before sunrise and positioned myself under by bag hide at the edge of a field I know the owls use to hunt. An hour later the sun rose and presented the most beautiful soft golden light over the frosted field and I was rewarded with this female giving me a close fly by having caught a field vole. Pleased that this image also recently won a silver award in the SINWP Bird Photographer Of The Year 2021 competition.

Yes I agree as I don't have a favourite type as I will shoot anything I was lucky enough to capture this last month late in the afternoon and getting a bit of sun here in Scotland is a novelty at this time of year

A big thanks to all who took part in last months competition.

The winners this time around are as follows:

1st place with 5 votes is @Sdawes
2nd place with 3 votes is @Kevriano
3rd place with 2 votes is @Angieb

I'm a little disappointed with the number of votes this time around. I think I need to find a way to encourage more people to vote.

Still, well done again everyone and thanks for taking part and keeping this little friendly competition going.

I'll be in touch with the winners soon to arrange the prizes.

Tim
