Left eye, not sure why. Maybe it's because it's what I've always been using since I first started.

Right eye, which is why the rangefinder style EVF on the APSC lineup never bothered me.

Right-eye dominant here, too. Always use the EVF with my right eye.....

Hi, Use my right eye probably 95% of the time as kind of got into the habit of when using a camera on tripod with a gimbal if I use my left eye my right eye becomes redundant as you cannot see properly over the gimbals upright and your right hand on the shutter, if camera makers made some cameras for left handed people IE the shutter button on the left then those people would I assume do the same in the opposite? Russ.

Right! Anyone using the left is a bit freaky IMO. I can't close my right eye independently of my left anyway.

So what does that make me Kev I use the eye in the middle 🤣

Wow. I cannot believe this, I thought the poll would be a tie, guess everyone else is right eye shooters besides me.

A Cyclops 😆

@Brownie No I can't, never have been able to. I was dragged from my mum with forceps and they must have damaged the bit that controls that, as I have a scar by my eye, which means it must have been a deep wound.

I am right eye dominant and used that eye for most of my career, many years ago my right cornea was scratched pretty deeply right down the center, during sort of long term recovery it would heal and then tear again when I woke in say a dry hotel room while on the road. I eventually gave up and switched eyes, the weird things is even though the left was good it did not seem to know what to do when looking through the eyepiece. Now again many years later after training the left eye to work and as I get older I find the vision in my right is better than the left, so I am trying to switch back.
The interesting thing is most early cameras were designed for right eye use

Kevin potter ? wizard with a camera :)

If you're trying to make me feel bad, it ain't working! The scar is probably from your mum cuffing you one for being cheeky!

My wife can't close her left eye without closing her right either, but there are no forcep marks.
Nah, my mum gave up hitting me when I laughed at her for trying to hit me with an Iron :D

It absolutely relates to the setting you use on the VF diopter, taking into account the optical
vagueries of your right and/or left eye vision efficiency, which most people have....if you have
a left/right estigma differential most people will set up their diopter to suit the eye which has
the better visionary efficiency, which makes a lot of sense.

I am not aware of many shooters who set up their VF based diopter based upon their optically
weakest eye....

Strongly right eye dominant (the amount of dominance varies a lot, apparently); always use viewfinder with my right eye, too.

Right eye.
I have had laser eye surgery on my left eye so it is better than my right eye…. But, I started out using my right eye and habits are hard to bust!

Hahaha, what is this, the cultural revolution? I just prefer smearing my nez on the right side of the screen.

Funny thing is that I had never thought about until last year.

I am with the majority here and I use my right eye and I am right handed as those who have been talking about that part of it

Right eye dominant. I shoot rifles, pistols, shotguns and cameras with my right eye.
