I'm recording with an Atomos on an A7Siii but I was curious and couldn't find an answer to if the picture quality improves (i.e. you get the full 4K output out the HDMI to the Atomos) only when the Record button on the A7Siii is engaged.
Is this the case? Or is the camera always outputting the highest possible signal (matching the recording settings) even when it's not actively recording?
