Last time I took pics of the dragonflies in the back yard and I discovered the hard way that the 70-300 has such a long minimum focusing distance that I was taking pictures too closely. This time I tried to improve my odds by adding a 10mm macro extension tube into the mix. Unfortunately the macro extension tube did not shorten the minimum focusing distance, but I did get better shots now that I knew the lens' limitations.

There were many in the trees, even bokeh can't hide them...

I love the last one, great shot.
 
The last 2 are great. Extension tubes are great for super close up, but they kill depth of field too, I couldn't get on with them at all! I maintain that you can't beat a long zoom for Dragonflies.
 
Nice work Chris. The last 2 are also my favorite.
