I am thinking for static insects the a7r5 70-200mm f4 with 1.4 or 2 tc will give a good account of itself and will show a lot more detail with the option of a focus stack as well as insect ai,as we know insects become awfully big if not on the correct focal plane ,as you can see the body is in focus but head is just wandering out of focus ,still good images with a wonderfully diffused back ground ,just out interest where did you place the focus point ?

Paul focus point was on the body behind the head, and I purposely pushed the f number to see what the 1.4 x could do, I loaned a 2x but I think the 1.4 is better at least on the 200-600. I think Sony are well overdue on new teleconverters for e-mount

Very nice. Everyone who knows my shots here knows always use the 200 600 for these shots. Plenty of evidence of how good it is.
