I shot a burst of images of this little fellow (definitely male in mating plumage).
So that is the full shot, taken with the A1 mark II and the 70-200mm f/2.8 GM II at 200mm, wide open.
These are tiny birds. To show off the accuracy of focus on the eye, and the details captured, here is a crop 2000 x 2000 (because images here over that size are scaled). So this crop is 4Mpixels from 60.
So at 100%, do you think the new autofocus nailed eye autofocus on a black eye against black feathers? I wouldn't call this a particularly good shot of the bird (should really have used f/4) but I'm impressed with the focus.
