Across the street from my house is a 30 ft palm tree (Sabal/Cabbage palm?) in my neighbor's yard and something caught my eye:

It suits my needs, though I can very easily see why many of the forum members want even longer reach for bird photography. Since birds are not my usual subjects, this lens has been a fantastic "jack of all trades" zoom for zoo visits and back yard sight seeing.

I can't wait to take it to F1 next year. That's really why I bought it. But in the meanwhile, I'll continue practicing on random subjects.
