I have been experimenting with the focus bracketing settings on the A1 ii to discover which ones to use with the Sony 90mm macro lens. (The results are probably applicable to other Sony cameras with this feature).
I discovered that the step size depends on the f-stop that you selelct - large f numbers produce a greater step size. Also, the step size seems to be directly proportional to the camera setting.
At f2.8, step size 10:
Magnification: x1 x0.5 x0.25
Step size mm. 0.15 0.45 1.4
dof. 0.07 0.16 0.43
suggested step size. 5 4 3
At f11, step size 10:
Magnification: x1 x0.5 x0.25
Step size mm. 1.0 3.0 10
dof. 1.06 2.4 6.65
suggested step size 10 8 6
