Last weekend I was at Gladhouse Reservoir and after some time lying down enjoying the warmth of the sun on me by the side of a gorse bush I saw this petal it conveyed a sense of warmth, delicacy, and intimacy with nature, with the bright yellow tones of the petal, contrasted against the dark background with my new Sigma Art 105 macro lens picking out the fine details of the tiny hairs on the plant part.

I remember seeing Gorse everywhere on my trip to Scotland: so beautiful from afar, but up close those thorns looked quite unpleasant!

Yeah they sure are...as a young boy we used to crawl in them to collect lost golf balls to save buying them 🙂
