Where I live it is quite flat and in this you can follow birds as this is what I do mostly.
And there has been times when I have followed them only to find out I have no idea where I stop the car.
I did have one before but it was a piece of junk but the Garmin GSPMAP65s on the quick run with it worked like a champ.
If we had hill and more way to identify where you are it would be a lot easier.
But here is our bush the tree you are next to looks like the one 20 steps away and so on. So before you know it you are out bush and lost.
Yes I know about using the sun position and this has got me out of a few but a clear way to get back to the car is what I rather have.
I now think I have got this and I think this is just what we do need in my area.
A few others do use them but I think peer pressure stops a few from bring them out.
I personally don't care what others think and I will use mine each and everytime I go out.
I rather know I will make it home on time and not spend hours trying to work out where I am.

So here's to a safer 2022 for me.
