Well it is only a Snowy so you'll get lots more chances. At this point I would say maybe put your focus point lower or make that focal length smaller.

To be honest I can not really complain this shot is a bit out of context since it is shot 4 of a burst of 10 from the a9

I do this all the time, especially if using zone tracking as it will follow the bird faster than I can pan sometimes, so the in focus bird ends up right on the edge of the frame.

One of them things mate but the image looks great cropped in a bit tighter to give a real close up of the feather detail

I call it the greedy 600. I have to constantly remind myself that my zoom goes from 200 to 600mm And sometimes it is better to crop than to miss part of the bird.
