They may have shared an ancestor somewhere back in time but you can be pretty sure it's not a direct descendant. Thanks for the comment.

They can be quite annoying to photograph because they bounce around doing two-legged jumps.
Not sure how long they are in their mating plumage, but they do look “dressed up”. The splendid fairy wrens do, too. I imagine that they were named superb and splendid during mating season - they look dull outside.
