Hello from another Calgarian

Thanks @Timothy Mayo for adding me.

Yesterday I upgraded from a 10 yr old Lumix point and shoot superzoom.

Now I have

• A7 III
• Sony FE 28-70 F3.5-5.6 kit lens
• Tamron RXD 28-200 F2.8-5.6
• Sony FE 50 mm F1.8

Since yesterday we've taken about 300 photos of birds and squirrels, starting to get the hang of it.

Took me about 4 hours to figure out how to pair bluetooth with my iPhone but I got it done. Nice to have geo-tagging, and simple remote camera shutter from phone and watch.. The instructions and numerous YouTube how-to's were not helpful!

Thank you for joining Peter! Glad to hear you are starting to get the hang of the a7III. How are you liking the Tamron 28-200? I've not tried this lens.

Hi Timothy.

The Tamron is really versatile, so much so that my other lenses aren't getting the love. I don't really have a use for the kit lens at all. It's great value at CDN$1k and is compact and light.

I'm looking forward to getting out of the house with it. We're in a -30C polar vortex and with COVID our adventures have been limited to the my back deck.
