Good evening, just dropping a quick message to introduce myself, high end Jewellery photographer working full time in Bond Street London.

Welcome!
High end product photography is pretty interesting; do you usually use macro lenses or rely on high megapixel photos and crop in on the product?

Forget what lenses he uses, can he snag me a great ring? LOL Welcome to the happy group of Sony shooters. You will find camaraderie and knowledge here. Now, again, about that ring . . . ;o)

Welcome to the Forum Rob. What gear are you shooting with? As far as viewing your professional work, I can assure you my Wife will never see it.

I use a Mamiya 645DF with Leaf digital back and macro lens, I also use a Canon 5D MKiv for some model shots and social media images... Basically i'm in the process of switching over to Sony's mirrorless system, and awaiting delivery of the α7R iv(a) i need to choose the best macro lens, I have read a couple of reviews that prefer the Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG DN Macro over the Sony FE 90mm OSS , I shoot in studio with flash on tripod..

Welcome aboard. Look forward to seeing some of your work. Maybe you can share some techniques. Plz

They are quite lovely but I was thinking more along the lines of an elegant signet ring. Something with the family coat of arms. That would require some studied filching. The gemstones you have posted are great, even the cabochons are elegant. But I will receive any sort of expensive stolen goods. LOL

Definitely High End Jewelry coupled with High End Photography.

Welcome Rob and thanks for joining up here! Amazing photos too! I bet these help to shift a lot of jewellery for your clients! :) I haven't read too many comparisons between the Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG DN Macro and the Sony FE 90mm OSS, but the ones I have read matched them pretty closely. I'm probably a little bias as I do have the Sony! :) I've not used it for shooting jewellery though. My wife managed to lose her engagement ring and another ring recently. When we get them replaced I'll try to take a couple of shots. Helpful for the insurance too! :)
