I'm a long time Canon user (most recent camera being the SL1) but I thought it was time to upgrade, and to my surprise it looked like the EF/-s mount is about to abandoned so decided to see what else was out there and here I am! Purchased a a7iv with the kit lens last week and now looking at the tamron 35-150mm and sigma 150-600mm sport! It was the third party lens support that sold me on sony but also looking forward to life with a full frame coming from a 1.6x crop dslr.

Welcome! If lens selection is of interest to you, Sony is a much more open system than Canon right now. Many 3rd party lenses to choose from.

Welcome Kevin and thank you for joining up here! Sony definitely has a very nice selection of third-party lenses available with more favorable price tags compares to some of the GM lenses. Sadly it looks like Canon is going all out to stop third-party companies making RF lenses right now, so Sony definitely has the advantage here for the time-being.
