Sony A7R V Help need to pair the Sony Remote RMT-P1BT to the Sony A7r 5

Hi, I am trying to pair the Sony RMT-P1BT remote to my A7R 5. My problem is the bluetooth Rmt Crtrl button will not stay on so that I can pair the remote. I turned on bluetooth, then go to the Rmt Crtl botton(should be on) then go to pair. If the Rmt will not stay on I can't pair. I am stuck on what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If bluetooth is turned on then your next step is to select pairing and hold the shutter button on the remote together with either the - or + buttons for around 5 seconds until it pairs. Now you can go to the Bluetooth Rmt Ctrl option and select "Use paired device". I know, it's not exactly intuitive!
