You learn something new every day in the world of wildlife-first time i have seen a heron taking a duck, couldn't be this is a chick...its not so easy to see from the photo...?

Yes indeed it was a chick... the heron first drowned the chick and after some time he swallowed the young chick. Birdlife can be cruel ..

This was also my first time seeing a heron finally eating a young duck.

It's amazing what a Heron can get down its neck.
