Not closely related. family Nectariniidae in order Passeriformes vs. family Trochillidae in order Apodiformes. They've likely found similar ecological niches and both groups evolved to take advantage of the habitat, called convergent evolution.Wow. Triple wow!
No hummingbirds here. We do have sunbirds. I think they are related. Very pretty, related, I believe. Like hummingbirds without the steroids!

Hummingbirds are the one bird the "new world" has that the "old world" gets to be jealous of. They put up a good fight but so many other types we don't get here.Wow. Triple wow!
